ATTORNEY REFERRALS

A large part of my practice involves referrals from attorneys in Maryland who do not practice Maryland personal injury litigation or divorce in Maryland. Also many attorneys outside Maryland who are not licensed in Maryland contact my office to make referrals and share in the cases. We accept these referrals always with client consents and the appropriate agreement regarding fee shares. Also the cases are accepted understanding that my office advances all cost money. I have designed this section of the sight as an aid to attorneys interested in personal injury litigation and as a reference point for information on personal injury litigation in Maryland. If you have a case you would like to discuss with me please feel free to call.

For each personal injury case In Maryland, whether it is a car accident in Maryland or a medical malpractice injury, every case is best understood by reducing the issues to three separate categories: Liability; Damages and Insurance Coverage. In order for your personal injury case to be successful each piece of this three piece puzzle must fit perfectly. Otherwise, in Maryland as a contributory negligence state, your client will not receive any recover for their injuries.

For me the starting point is any case is to identify the defendant, secure the facts, preserve the evidence, and select my jurisdiction. Once I am satisfied I have all notice requirements met and have calendared limitations periods, we commence generating letters to all insurers, health care providers, police and ambulance services. We secure witness statements immediately and visit the accident scene to secure photographs. A complete and thorough interview with our client is mandatory. As the information comes into the office we classify according to how the information fits into the puzzle of the case with an eye toward proof in front of a jury.

As to Divorce cases in Maryland every case is understood by realizing there is a finite list of issues to resolve. The issues can be resolved by Settlement Agreement or litigation.
